Robert James Vinklarek was born in Shiner, Texas, on August 2, 1945. He went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2017.

He was a State Farm Agent for almost 40 years in Angleton, Texas. Robert also volunteered at the Ramsey Unit teaching a Bible study class for nearly 30 years. He loved his relationship with all the men who longed to change their lives. Many have left the confines of the prison and are serving the Lord today, due to the Lord using Robert as a faithful, committed instrument to spread His word. Robert was a member of St. Basil's Catholic Church in Angleton, Texas, where he taught Catholic Catechism for many years, and was president of the Parish Council numerous times. He and his wife are presently members of St. Joseph's on the Brazos in Brazoria, Texas, where he also served on the parish council.

As an ambassador, he represented the Angleton Chamber of Commerce at many openings. He was also a Little League baseball coach, the President of Angleton Noon Lions Club, and served as President of Westside PTA in Angleton. Robert served as a bank director at the Angleton Bank of Commerce.

He was a graduate of El Campo High School class of 1963. In 1967, he earned his Bachelor's of Business Administration at Sam Houston University.

He was loved, respected and will be deeply missed by all.

So sorry for the loss of our fellow classmate.   He was truly a wonderful and loving person.   I will certainly miss him at our class reunions.   He and his wife, Beverly, were always such a joy to be around.

It was so good to see the class represented By Gloria, Glenda and husband; Dickie Orsak and wife; Ray Allen and wife; Fred Koenig; and myself. Seem like that is where we meet lately is a funerals. Might be time for another get together for another reason other than funerals? I was nice to see all the Vinklareks but I wish it was under better circumstances. Love to ALL! My prayers go out to them!

It is so difficult to believe that we have lost Robert.  What a wonderful and loving person he was.  It was a privilege to be a friend.  He will always be in my heart.

It was a sheer delight knowing Robert. I first knew him as the "twin with the chipped tooth" at St. Philip's Catholic School. Everytime I had the opportunity to visit with he and Beverly he smiled as he spoke of his fullfilling work at the prison. What a humble man he was as he excelled at his church, civic, and volunteer work. He and Beverly were a class act together. I know without a doubt God has a very special place for him in heaven. You are painfree now. Many people like me have benefited from knowing you.
