Judy Walling Davidson

November 30, 1044 -- April 13, 2024

Julia Jean (Judy) Davidson, 79, of Clyde passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, in an Abilene hospice facility. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Clyde Methodist Church with Rev. Monty Barnett officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Judy was born November 30, 1944, in El Campo to Carl Jasper and Mary Margaret (Howard) Walling. She graduated from El Campo High School in 1963 and went to cosmetology school in Houston. She returned to El Campo and worked in a beauty shop for five years. She then moved to Houston where she met Frank Davidson, and they were married on November 15, 1972. Judy worked in an insurance company, then a food broker.

They moved to Clyde in 1997. She was the non-food manager at Winn-Dixie when the store closed in 2002. She started driving for Blake Fulenwider Dodge in Clyde, retiring in 2013. Judy loved animals and spoiled all of her dogs and loved to dog sit with friend’s dogs. She loved to serve and volunteer at Clyde Methodist Church, where she was a member since 2010.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Frank Davidson; nieces, Billie Jean Kinney and husband Ed, Jackie Hart-Brown and husband Carl, Jere Verner and husband Charles and Julie Hays and husband Joe; nephews, Ricky Wood and wife Kathy and Jay Walling and wife Julie; sister-in-law, Eileen Walling; adopted family, Jack and Malinda Phariss and their kids, Alex, Gabrielle, Jacky, Mia and Sky; brother-in-law, Tommy Davidson; numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.  

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Douglass Gerald Walling; her sisters, Violet Marie Wood and Rosemary Howard; brother-in-law, Carl Howard; nieces, Sheri Howard and Cortene Marie Wood, and nephews, Jeff Walling, Larry Wayne Howard and Tom Hart.

I am saddened to hear of the death of Judy.  She and I rode the bus for many years.  Such a quiet, kind girl.  May she rest in peace.  ~Jane
