Don Coffman

Don Layne Coffman, 52, of El Campo died Wednesday, November 19, 1997.

He was born April 2, 1945 in El Campo to Monty and Mayola Laughlin Coffman.  He worked at Entex for 30 years, serving for the past 16 years as office manager.  He was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church.

Coffmann was currently serving on the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, and the El Campo Country Club.  He was a member of the Lions Club, and had served on the board of directors of the Little League Association.  He had also volunteered as a Little League coach for 10 years.

He served in the Reserve National Guard for six years.

Don Coffman is survived by his wife, Pat Coffman of El Campo; mother, Mayola Laughlin Coffman of El Campo; son, Troy Coffman of San Diego, California; daughters, Kristie and Tammy Coffman of El Campo; and sister Dorothy Johnson of El Campo.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A parish rosary was recited Thursday at Triska Funeral Home.  Funeral services were held Friday at St. Philip Catholic Church with Rev. Thu Nguyen officiating.  Burial was held at Holy Cross Memorial Park.

Pallbearers included George McKelvy, Terry Supak, Oscar Escobar, Claude Figueroa, Bruce Reber and Joe Solito.

Honorary pallbearers were the employees of Entex.

Memorials may be given to the St. Philip School Endowment Fund or Hospice Support, Inc.
