Martha Anne Kacal Sekula

May 9, 1945   --   May 30, 1999

Martha Anne Kacal Sekula, the daughter of Mary Sliva Kacal and Joseph John Kacal, was born on May 9, 1945, in El Campo, Texas.  She was the youngest of ten children born to the couple.  She graduated from El Campo High School in 1963.  On January 23, 1965, she married Patrick Sekula at St. John's Catholic Church in Taiton, Texas.  Martha passed away, at the age of 54, on May 30, 1999, in Harris County, Texas.

She was survived by her husband, Patrick Sekula, and their daughter, LeAnne Sekula Chow.  Also surviving Martha were her sisters, Adela Ehler, Evelyn Bartlett, Mary Warneke, Lucy Sydow and Mildred Burt; brothers, Raymond Kacal and William "Bill" Kacal. 

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph John Kacal and brothers, Clement Kacal and John Kacal.

Interment was at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Gonzalez, Texas.

Patrick James Sekula

August 4, 1943   --   April 7, 2002

Patrick James Sekula passed away on April 7, 2002, at the age of 58.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He was also a business owner and cattle rancher.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Anne Kacal Sekula; his parents, Fred and Annie Sekula and brothers William, Joseph and Leo David Sekula.

Patrick is survived by his daughter, LeAnne Sekula Chow and her husband Charles; sister, Joyce Crowell of Luling, Texas; and brother, Kenneth Sekula of Gonzalez, Texas.

A funeral Mass was held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Houston, Texas.  Interment was at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Gonzalez, Texas.
