Walter Edward Fink, Jr.

April 21, 1945 ~~~ June 24, 2026

 

Walter Edward Fink, Jr. of Wharton passed away June 24, 2026 at the age of 81. He was born April 21, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA to Maybelle Ustynik and Walter Fink Sr.  

He served in the US Army during the Viet Nam war. He was a licensed electrician and worked for Texas Gulf Sulphur and Wharton ISD.


He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Jacobs Fink; daughter Heidi Patrick and husband Charles of El Campo; step-daughter Amanda Flynt and husband Ty of Richmond-Rosenburg, and son Chad Fink and wife Ginger of Bay City; grandchildren Chase Fink, and Bethani Fink; great-grandchildren Jaxson Flynt, Kason Flynt and Lainey Flynt.


Graveside services will be 2 PM Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Speaks Cemetery with Pastor Tony Wishert officiating, and Military Honors under the auspices of the Halletsville American Legion Post. Refreshments will follow at the community center following the service.

Walter's name was not on the list of Senior Class of 1963 graduates on our Graduation Exercise program.  His photo was shown in only our 1962 junior class yearbook, but even if he was only with us for one year, we want to remember him here.
