Gilbert Vallejo

Gilbert Vallejo of El Campo, passed away on February 19, 2025 at the age of 79. He was born July 14, 1945 in Victoria to Edward Sr. and Isabel Rodriguez Vallejo. He taught for 25 years in Milby ISD in Houston and when he retired, he was a substitute teacher for ECISD.

He is survived by his children Rodolfo Rivera of Guatemala, Monika Wizel of Guatemala, Brenda Cabrera of El Salvador, and Luisa Maria Arriaga of Guatemala; brothers Edward Vallejo, Jr. of El Campo, Alfred Vallejo of Austin, and Emilio Vallejo of Victoria; and sisters Mary Arredondo and Lena Escobar, both of El Campo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 39 years, Carmela Meany Vallejo; sisters Elisa Fortinilli and Minerva Carter; and brothers Carlos and Ricardo Vallejo.

A parish rosary will be offered 9:30 AM on February 28, 2025 at St. Robert Catholic Church, followed by the Memorial Mass at 10:00 AM. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
