Sue Jones, 53, activist, volunteer for animal rights

When it came to helping animals, Sue Jones did whatever it took, from picking up strays to waving protest signs.

A vegetarian who owned four dogs and a cat, the 53-year-old Marietta resident volunteered for 14 years with the Humane Society of Cobb County and Friends of Animals of Georgia.

She called for animal rights during marches in Washington and spoke out against animal experimentation at Emory University's Yerkes Primate Center.

The memorial service for Retta "Sue" was held at the Unity North Atlanta Church.
